Coronavirus Pandemic

COVID-19 Update

We’d like to wish you a Happy New Year, hoping you had a safe and joyful holidays!

Unfortunately in 2022, we all continue to be affected by COVID-19.

With the rise in cases, we are having to periodically operate at reduced capacity, as our staff adhere to testing and isolation requirements. Due to this we are currently experiencing staff shortages at short notice, which can impact service availabilities, opening hours and delays in responding to your calls and emails. Please be patient with our staff, as they are doing their best to accommodate all of you in these challenging times.

We ask that you help us in staying COVID safe by continuing to check-in using the NSW services QR codes, wear your face mask whilst outside the treatment room, and completing the patient pre-screening.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you in clinic soon!

Update to COVID-19 Safety Protocols

We are open for all your essential dental care needs during the Sydney Lockdown

Boutique Dental Bondi has (re-)implemented additional safety protocols for the foreseeable future due to the new community transmission cases of COVID-19.

Masks (or facial coverings) will be required to be worn by all patients and visitors whilst in our waiting room. We will have fewer waiting room chairs, to ensure social distancing.

We’ll be continuing temperature checking and pre-screening all patients (and staff) on arrival, so please make sure you arrive at least a few minutes before your appointment starts.

Please make use of the hand sanitiser provided on entry to the clinic and always check yourself in using the Service NSW app QR code so we can easily contact you if there are any issues.

Please also be hyper-vigilant with your own health... if you have any symptoms, please let us know by phone or email, and we will reschedule your appointment. You will not be charged for a late cancellation in this incidence. However if you do not let us know, there will be a no-show fee applied.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to provide our non-essential services, such as our Zoom in-chair teeth whitening treatment, till after the lockdown has been lifted. (You can also purchase a gift voucher for all of our teeth whitening services online, so you're ready when restrictions end!)

We’re here to keep you safe, happy and smiling!
All the best from the Boutique Dental Bondi team

COVID-19 Level 1 Dental Restrictions

Google Post- Template (5).jpg

We are open for all your dental care needs!
From Saturday 9th May, the dental restrictions have lowered to Level 1. Boutique Dental Bondi has returned to offering our full range of dental services, including teeth cleanings, teeth whitening, dental crowns and implants, Invisalign, fillings and more.

Patient pre-screening, social distancing as well as our increased infection prevention procedures will continue. Unfortunately our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, charging stations or children’s toys and we will no longer offer blankets or pillows to patients in surgery, since these items are too difficult to adequately clean and disinfect. Clear plastic screens (sneeze guards) have been installed at the front desk to minimize exposure to airborne pathogens. Medical-grade high efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) air purifiers have been installed in the office to help improve the air quality in the area for all patients, family members, and staff. Our dentists and staff will be wearing all of the recommended personal protective equipment (PPE).

Thank you to all of our patients for their continued patience and understanding during this time! If you had to delay your appointment due to the restrictions, please call the clinic on (02) 9387 2851 to reschedule or follow the link to book online. We look forward to welcoming you back to Boutique Dental Bondi.

COVID-19 Level 2 Dental Restrictions

Dentist Bondi Junction Level 2 dental restrictions.JPG

Following an announcement from the Prime Minister and the Dental Board of Australia, we are happy to announce Boutique Dental Bondi is moving to Level 2 Dental Restrictions from Monday 27 April.

As the national stockpile of personal protective equipment has been boosted and the community transmission rate of COVID-19 remains low. Boutique Dental Bondi is able to resume a wider range of dental services, such as dental consultations, fillings, dental crowns and Invisalign treatment. We are also able to provide dental cleans, however under the restrictions we are still unable to use ultrasonic cleaners, air polishers or any other aerosol generating equipment.

Social distancing, patient screening and increased infection prevention procedures remain at our Bondi Junction, Sydney clinic. To scheduled an appointment please call the clinic on (02) 9387 2851 or book online.

We look forward to caring for you and the community during this time.

Stay safe,

The Boutique Dental Bondi Team

COVID-19 Level 3 Dental Restrictions

COVID19 restrictions Boutique Dental Bondi .jpg

Boutique Dental Bondi is still open to support your dental care, however, the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC, the key decision-making committee for public health emergencies comprised of all state and territory Chief Health Officers and chaired by the Chief Medical Officer) and Australian Dental Association (ADA) have recommended that dentists cease provision of routine dental treatment and only perform urgent and emergency dental treatment. This purpose of this restriction to:

  • prevent the further spread of COVID-19

  • conserve desperately needed personal protective equipment supplies (e.g. surgical masks, respirators and gowns) which will be required to protect frontline health care workers in hospitals caring for COVID-19 patients.

In line with this advice, Boutique Dental Bondi will temporarily postpone all routine dental care (such as check-up and cleans, dental crowns, dental implant placements, cosmetic procedures, etc). Patients who fit this category with existing appointments will be contacted to have their appointments rescheduled.

Concurrently, as dentists, we recognise our duty to provide care for urgent and emergency dental conditions. This is important not only to ensure patients receive the urgent care they require but also to alleviate the burden on medical primary care and emergency services. In line with this, Boutique Dental Bondi will continue to treat patients who are determined to have genuine urgent and emergency dental conditions. All treatment will be provided with strict adherence to ADA Guidelines in terms of additional infection control and personal protective equipment precautions.

Under these restrictions, Boutique Dental Bondi will temporarily only be seeing patients with:

  • Acute dental pain (toothaches or very sore gums)

  • Dental Trauma (trips, falls and accidents causing soft tissue and dental injuries)

  • Facial and gum swellings (infections and abscesses)

  • Re-cementing loose crowns or veneers

  • Broken tooth or fillings, if cutting lip, tongue or cheeks

  • Urgent fillings or dental treatment, required to prevent infections or pain

  • Loose retainer wires hurting gums, tongues or cheeks

  • Gum and soft tissue lesions (ulcers) that haven't healed for more than 2 weeks

  • Referred by GP/doctor for dental treatment

Patients over the age of 60 years old and those with chronic diseases (particularly cardiovascular or respiratory disease), and those who are immunocompromised (e.g. currently under cancer treatments or insulin dependent diabetics) should delay treatment wherever possible because social distancing is especially important for these groups.

Please be reassured that we are here to support our existing and any new patients during this difficult time. Our practice shall remain open on temporarily reduced hours and our dentists shall remain available to assist with your enquiries. The situation is ever changing, and we shall provide updates to this advice as required. Please take care of yourselves, your families and your community.

Kind Regards,

The Boutique Dental Team
